Bookings for the Summer peak will be available to book online from:

Applicable dates are as follows:
Summer Peak -December 26th Boxing Day – January 31, including Australia Day long weekend.
As there will be high demand for these bookings, there are a couple of points to consider:
To book a campsite, equipment details including Length and Type must be entered.
Securing more than two sites in a single name in this periods will result in ALL bookings in that name being cancelled and the applicable cancellation fees being charged. This is being done to prevent multiple sites being tied up by one person, preventing access to these sites during the release rush.
Sites “swap and cancel” amongst friends and family members are not allowed. So please do not have family members book a backup on your behalf in case you miss out, with a view to only keeping the “best” site. This unfairly ties up sites during the release rush.
Maximum Stay on one site is 6 weeks. Any abutting bookings that extend beyond the peak periods will be clipped to this maximum length.
Sites are numbered 1 through 132.
Site 37 is our bungalow. During Summer peak, the bungalows can only be booked for 7 days, Friday to Friday. (26 Dec is a Friday this year)

If your main objective is to get any site rather than a specific site you can skip Site Selection by pressing “Next Step” instead “Select Site from Map”. This is the fastest way to book as the system assigns the next available site. The site assigned will show on your booking confirmation.
Sites “swap and cancel” amongst friends and family members are not allowed. So please do not have family members book a backup on your behalf in case you miss out, with a view to only keeping the “best” site. This unfairly ties up sites during the release rush.
The Walkerville South beach will be closed to recreational vehicles to reduce the risk to beach users during the four day period over the Easter Long Weekend (Friday April 18- Monday April 21 inclusive). Bollards will be installed on the beach access ramp.
Recreational vehicles – what does this mean? The term recreational vehicle relates to motorized leisure vehicles on the beach. This includes cars (with or without trailers), trucks or utes. Kayaks may still be launched on the beach and other small water craft that don’t require a vehicle to launch them.
Walkerville North Off the beach launching will still be available nearby at Walkerville North where there are upgraded road, car parking, sea wall and recreational facilities. There is potential car and trailer parking available for up to 37 cars with trailers at Walkerville North.
Vehicles can only be driven onto the beach at Walkerville North for the purpose of launching or retrieving a boat, and cannot be parked on the beach or driven to other parts of the beach.

Walkerville Foreshore Reserve Vegetation Management Update – November 2024
Vegetation Management and Weed control
We have been carrying out works throughout the reserve targeting invasive species. Works commenced at Walkerville South in October, where large tracts of Dolichos creeper and Cape Ivy have been choking the native vegetation as they climb higher to reach more sunlight. Significant progress has been made in this area and you may see the creepers dying off, enabling the supporting bush to recuperate. Where possible the cut and paste method has been used to minimise any adverse effects of spraying.
Other species being targeted include Arum lily, Blue Periwinkle, Pittosporum and Sallow Wattle trees as well as African Boxthorn along the beachside.
In the coming month the focus will shift towards North Walkerville.
Prohibited Land Use
As our Vegetation Management team have worked though the reserve, they have come across several areas where adjacent landholders have been clearing vegetation, cutting down trees, maintaining gardens, dumping garden waste and placing infrastructure within the foreshore reserve. All of these activities are prohibited without express approval from the Walkerville Foreshore Reserve Committee of Management.
We will be working through a process to re-establish the natural state of the Foreshore Reserve in these affected areas.

This plan highlights strategies and proposed improvements to ensure the reserve remains a peaceful retreat, preserving its unique natural, cultural, and landscape values while enhancing visitor safety and enjoyment.
We are inviting feedback from all stakeholders to help shape a master plan that meets community needs and priorities. Whether you’re a regular camper, a local resident, or a visitor who loves the Walkerville Foreshore, your input is invaluable.
Bookings for the Labour Day Weekend and Easter 2024 will be available to book online from:

Our staff can not do bookings for you, so please do not call them during the release.
