Walkerville Foreshore Committee of Management Inc.

      IMPORTANT: Please Read

      Dear Campers,

The Rangers have been informed of a number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in people who have recently left the camping reserve.

For current campers: if you are currently camping and you or a member of your group develop symptoms consistent with COVID-19, you must get tested and anyone with symptoms must leave the camping reserve and isolate at home or in private accommodation until they have your results. You will only be able to return to the Camping Reserve if you have returned a negative result (either a rapid antigen test or a PCR), or have completed the necessary period of isolation and complied with the Victorian Government requirements for leaving isolation: see https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/checklist-cases

If any person in your group tests positive for COVID, either on a rapid antigen test or a PCR test, in addition to the Victorian Government notification requirements, you are required to immediately notify the Rangers and all members of your group will be required to leave the Camping Reserve immediately.

If you are required to leave the Camping Reserve because a member of your group has developed symptoms and your group left to isolate at home pending the result, or a member of your group has tested positive to COVID-19, you will be entitled to a refund for the unused period of your stay.

In order to keep you and your family and friends safe, please continue to wear masks in the toilet blocks, laundries and kiosk. Please also observe social distancing rules and use hand sanitiser.

For people with future bookings: for those of you who are booked to come to Walkerville Foreshore Camping Reserve in the coming days and weeks:

      • If you have Covid related symptoms, please stay home until you have a negative test result or have completed the necessary period of isolation and complied with the Victorian Government requirements for leaving isolation: see https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/checklist-cases
      • If you are a household or household-like contact (have spent more than 4 hours with someone who has COVID-19 inside a house, accommodation or care facility), you must isolate for 7 days and follow Victorian Government rules. You cannot isolate in the Camping Reserve, so please stay home. See https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/checklist-contacts.

If a member of your group is affected by one of the above situations and as a consequence, your whole group is unable to stay at the Camping Reserve for all or part of the period of your booking, you will be entitled to a refund for those days that you are unable to use.

Thank you for your co-operation and please all keep safe and look after one another.

      Walkerville South Closed to recreational vehicles – 25th December 2021 – 31st January 2022

      Bollards

The Walkerville South beach will be closed to recreational vehicles to reduce the risk to beach users during the peak summer period. Bollards will be installed on the beach access ramp.

Recreational vehicles – what does this mean?
The term recreational vehicle relates to motorized leisure vehicles on the beach. This includes cars (with or without trailers), trucks or utes. Kayaks may still be launched on the beach and other small water craft that don’t require a vehicle to launch them.

      Walkerville North
Off the beach launching will still be available nearby at Walkerville North where there are upgraded road, car parking, sea wall and recreational facilities. There is potential car and trailer parking available for up to 37 cars with trailers at Walkerville North.

Vehicles can only be driven onto the beach at Walkerville North for the purpose of launching or retrieving a boat, and cannot be parked on the beach or driven to other parts of the beach.

      Sincerely,

Walkerville Foreshore Reserve Committee of Management

Easter and Labour day 2022 bookings open!

Bookings for Labour Day Long Weekend and April Victorian school holidays including Easter and Anzac day 2022 will be available to book online from:

          9am on Friday October 1st 2021

          Applicable dates are as follows:

          • Labour Day Long Weekend.  Mar 12 – Mar 14 (3 night minimum).
          • April School holidays. Apr 9 – Apr 25, including Easter Long Weekend Apr 15 – 18 (4 night minimum) and Anzac day Apr 25.

As there will be high demand for these bookings, there are a couple of points to consider:

          • Group bookings are NOT Permitted. Put simply Single Site, Single household, Single booking.
          • Securing more than one site in a single name in either of the two periods will result in all bookings in that name being cancelled and the applicable cancellation fee being charged.  This is being done to prevent multiple sites being tied up by one person, preventing access to these sites during the release rush.
          • Sites “swap and cancel” amongst friends and family members is not allowed. So please do not have family members book a backup on your behalf in case you miss out, with a view to only keeping the “best” site. This unfairly ties up sites during the release rush.

Sites are numbered 1 through 132.

Sites 34 & 37 are our two bungalows.

Please review our Booking FAQ to see more information and to download a detailed guide on how to book.

          Good luck with your Bookings.,
